Choice of hospital

What is the best hospital in my case?

When choosing a hospital, you can consult your GP.

You can take the following into account:

- The number of tumors treated annually in a particular hospital, a reflection of experience. Of course, these figures can also be low in a reference hospital if the condition is very rare.

- Is there a specialized multidisciplinary team present?

- The availability of specialized infrastructure.

- Specialized intensive care unit with state-of-the-art equipment

- Follow-up/aftercare of the disease and rehabilitation

- Participation in clinical studies

- Contribute to national and international brain tumor registries

- Do the doctors have contact with the European Reference Network?

- does the team regularly attend further education and training in the field of neuro-oncology and neurosurgery?

- Sufficient patient support and information provision (e.g. brochures)

- Collaboration with a patient association

- Presence of a neuropsychologist

-For children, it is best to contact a specialized hospital.
